Members and friends of the Seattle Opera Guild, let me start by thanking you for trusting me in this role as a leader. I’d like to share just what this role means to me.
It has been an honor to have served as your president for the past eighteen months. That our SOG survived as a nonprofit throughout the pandemic is admirable.
Those who attended a recital at Tagney Jones Hall on January 27 were treated to three remarkable singers accompanied by a superbly accomplished pianist, all African American.
Happy New Year to all Seattle Opera Guild members! We are halfway through our 67th fiscal year. Thanks to your generosity, we continue to support local performers by giving them opportunities to perform in front of a live audience.
On February 16, come at sunset for a celebration of the African American Culture in music and song. Compositions by Florence Price and more sung by Ibidunni Ojtikutu, accompanied by Rebecca Mañalac, a talk by Alex Minami on Malcolm X, and an African American meal, honoring the cuisine.

Let me begin by expressing my gratitude for the outpouring of support from across the Seattle Opera Guild (SOG) membership to bring us out from the depths of the pandemic.
Greetings from your outgoing President! I am thrilled that Marilyn Leck, former Guild President from 1999-2000, has volunteered to serve as the Interim Guild President from January 1-June 30, 2023.
SOG is at an exciting pivot point, faced with both challenges and opportunities. We’ve taken advantage of the COVID-enforced lull in our activities to revise our bylaws.
President's Message: I want you to know that despite COVID, we are continuing to provide gatherings and entertainment for Guild members and their guests.
