Save the Date: Summer Opera Party at COGIR

SOG Special Events Coordinator Patricia Pavia has been hard at work to to launch a very special and fun Summer Opera Party for all of us Opera lovers as we prepare to welcome the start of our upcoming 2022–2023 Opera season this August.

This will take place on the rooftop terrace of . . .

COGIR in Queen Anne at 805 4th Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109 on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m! ($25/person) (several blocks North of Seattle Opera at McCaw Hall )

Free Valet Garage Parking will be provided.

$25 for members or guests of the Seattle Opera Guild. Please pay in advance on our website, or send in your check with your preprinted envelope to: Seattle Opera Guild, PO Box 5745, Lynnwood, WA 98046. Donations are also welcome.

There will be a special drawing on-site at this event for two tickets to La Traviata (May 6–19, 2023 at McCaw Hall)—$20 for five chances to win these tickets. All proceeds will help fund the Seattle Opera Guild’s Singers Development Awards to support young opera singers. We offer several awards each year through our SDA Auditions program: first place, $3,000; second place, $2,000; third place, $1,000; and several Encouragement Awards of $500. You can see previous SDA winners here.

The singers who will perform on August 20 have all been winners of this program, and Ibidunni Ojitkutu has sung the mainstage role of “Strawberry Woman” in Seattle Opera’s recent production of Porgy and Bess!

An Extravaganza of “special hors d’oeuvres,” a signature cocktail, non-alcoholic bubbly drinks, snacks, water, and light music will be available from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Beginning at 2 p.m. in the dining room, the Seattle Opera Guild will provide a program with “opera arias” sung by our own Seattle Opera Guild performers and accompanied by piano accompanist, Elisabeth Ellis.

Our artists are:

  • Andrew Etherington, tenor
  • Aria Manning, coloratura soprano
  • Ibidunni Ojitkutu, soprano

From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, we will be on the rooftop of COGIR with wine, non-alcoholic beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and more light music.
