Members and friends of the Seattle Opera Guild, let me start by thanking you for trusting me in this role as a leader. I’d like to share just what this role means to me.
Leadership is often described as the ability to influence and guide others towards a common goal. I hope to demonstrate a clear vision, inspire others, and encourage a culture of openness and trust.
One of the critical components of leadership is encouraging community, which I have chosen to focus on. During my tenure, I will be emphasizing our connections to the Seattle Opera, the Seattle Opera Board, regional opera companies, and BRAVO. I would also like to include members of our broader vibrant artistic community. I know this is a gigantic endeavor, but with your active support, enthusiasm and contribution we will make a reality: a large, cohesive gathering of lovers and supporters of the arts, working together to make a difference.
